encounter team
Our leaders are based in different places all over the UK, but are united in their passion to serve the next generation through Encounter Youth Movement. Get to know a bit more about them below...
Obed Pius
Obed is passionate about living a life of full surrender and calling others to do the same. As a musician and worship leader, Obed loves to create and steward spaces for young people to come into the presence of God and be changed. At Encounter Youth Camp Obed organises and oversees all of our games, activities and themed nights! You'll also see him speaking in seminars and ministering to the young people in our sessions.
Lydia Wright
With a passion for worship, prayer and intercession and biblical literacy, Lydia loves to lead worship and teach in our seminars at Encounter Youth Camp. As a theology graduate, she loves digging deeper and answering the difficult questions of the faith with the hopes of encouraging others to explore what they believe and establish firm foundations in the Word of God. Her highlight every year is seeing young people completely transformed through encountering God and getting to baptise them at the end of camp!
Joanna Raj
Joanna is passionate about worship, prayer and helping young girls grow in their faith. At camp, she loves seeing Kingdom friendships being made and young people praying over each other. You'll often see her in our worship and ministry teams during meetings, helping out in the kitchen during mealtimes and getting stuck in with the games outside of meetings!
Rony Pius
As a keen evangelist, Rony is passionate about encouraging young people to share their faith boldly wherever God has placed them. He has a heart for Christian brotherhood and raising up men of God, so loves the opportunities he gets at camp to pray over and encourage boys at our youth camps. At camp, if he's not behind a camera taking amazing photos for our social media!, you'll find Rony leading worship, speaking in our seminars and involved in all the fun and activities!
Susanna Raj
Susanna is passionate about young people returning to who God created them to be and finding their true identity. Recently, Susanna has taken on more missional and outreach roles in her position as a student worker and is excited about equipping generations to share their faith with boldness! At camp, she often leads worship and loves teaching in our seminars. Susanna is a gifted speaker and her testimony resonates with so many young people, leading to incredible conversations and times of ministry.
Rebekah Waring
Becks is all about seeing young people radically encounter Jesus, especially those who have grown up in church and Christian families but never really come to know God for themselves. She loves seeing the transformation that comes from encountering God, the friendships that are made at camp and the God-centred conversations that take place. She also has a heart for prophetic ministry and will often be on our prophetic teams during services and in our prophetic appointments.
Look out for her leading worship and teaching in our seminars also!
Claudia Pushpanathan
Claudia is passionate about pursuing Jesus and a lifestyle of worship. She is currently a student at Awakening School of Ministry in Germany and her heart burns for the Gospel to be preached boldly and for the nations to be saved. She loves to see young people's hearts transformed through encounters with God in worship! You may see her leading worship at Encounter, speaking in a seminar, in your prophetic appointments and getting involved in games and activities!
